About West Liberty University

West Liberty University (WLU) is a public, four-year university and is West Virginia’s oldest higher education institution. As a forward-looking university, West Liberty offers students the opportunity to study in nearly 70 undergraduate majors and 30 programs, including athletic training and digital media design. Colleges at WLU include the Gary E. West College of Business, the College of Arts and Communication, the College of Liberal Arts, the College of Education, and the College of Sciences. Graduate programs include the Master of Professional Studies, the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, the Master of Arts in Education, the Master of Science in Criminology and Online MBA Programs.

MS in Criminology at West Liberty University

The Master’s in Criminology program offered at WLU provides enhanced educational and professional opportunity for students. Three primary groups of students will greatly benefit from earning their MS in Criminology at West Liberty University:

  1. Criminal justice practitioners who have already earned their Bachelor’s degree and are already working in their respective fields. Obtaining a Master’s degree will assist them in achieving career advancement.
  2. Undergraduate students who are looking to further their education and enhance their knowledge in the criminal justice field. After earning an MS in Criminology, students are able to pursue a doctorate degree in criminology.
  3. Students who are looking for a change in career and feel that a Master’s in Criminology will help broaden their career options.

Students who earn their MS in Criminology degree from West Liberty University can look forward to a career in law enforcement, corrections, and court-related services such as parole, rehabilitation, and probation.
