Utah Valley University is a public university in Orem, Utah, approximately 40 miles south of Salt Lake City. Commonly known as UVU, the school offers a variety of Associate and Bachelor’s degrees, as well as professional certification programs. UVU also provides Master’s degrees in business, education and nursing, three of the school’s most popular programs.

UVU is the largest public university in the state, with a student body of more than 33,000. Nearly 90% of students are Utah natives, but UVU is increasingly drawing students from around the country and the world. UVU currently hosts international students from more than 65 countries.

In addition to the main campus in Orem, UVU has a campus in Heber City, south of Park City. The Heber campus specializes in secondary education and business management. Associate degrees are also available in general education, business management, accounting, elementary education and behavioral science.

In 2008 the school became a university and adopted its current name; prior to that it had previously been called Utah Valley State College.
