The University of Cincinnati (also known as UC or Cincinnati) is considered one of the top, public research universities in the country. Located in Cincinnati, Ohio, UC offers over 600 academic programs, including Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees, first-professional education, and 300 degree granting programs.

With more than 40,000 students, UC has the second largest enrollment in Ohio, and one of the largest in the country. In 2012 Leiden University ranked UC 63rd nationally and 93rd globally in the number of top-cited publications, and U.S. News & World Report listed UC as a Tier One University. It was also listed among the top 200 universities globally and the top 100 in North America in Times Higher Education’s 2010 survey.

UC features several programs that are ranked nationally, including medicine, pediatrics, law, criminal justice, engineering, architecture, anthropology, neurology, paleontology, aerospace, cooperative education, environmental science, design, music, musical theater, opera, and pharmacy.

UC is the largest employer in the Cincinnati metropolitan area, with a $3.5 billion annual economic impact on the local economy. UC draws significant research funding to Cincinnati, raising $500 million annually.

The school was founded in 1819 under the name Cincinnati College, making it the oldest institution of higher education in the city. The main campus has been widely praised by architects and campus planners after the University instituted the 1989 Master Plan.

Business School

The Lindner College of Business at the University of Cincinnati is consistently ranked as one of the nation’s Best Business Schools by U.S. News & World Report, Bloomberg Businessweek and The Princeton Review. The Lindner College of Business offers its graduate students full-time, part-time and online MBA programs. The business college also provides seven specialized master’s degree programs and twenty graduate certificates options.

In addition to its recent #1 business school ranking from CollegeAtlas.org on The A-List: Best Business Schools 2015, the Lindner Master of Science in Business Analytics was ranked in the Top 20 data analytics programs in North America, the Lindner Master of Science in Finance was ranked in the Top 10 programs in the United States, and the Lindner MBA earned the highest rankings jump in the country on the 2015 U.S. News & World Report MBA rankings.
