School Overview
The University of Delaware (locally referred to as “UD”) located in the city of Newark is Delaware’s largest, four-year university. In addition to its Newark campus, University of Delaware has campuses in Georgetown, Lewes, Wilmington, and Dover. The University has about 16,000 students (12,500 undergraduate and 3,500 graduate). As the University of Delaware is a Land Grant, Sea Grant, Urban Grant, and Space Grant Research University, it receives a substantial amount of public funding. However, it is also a privately-chartered, higher education institution. Currently, the University’s endowment is nearly $1 billion ($965 million to be exact).
