Founded in 1881, the University of Connecticut (sometimes referred to as Uconn) is a Land Grant and Sea Grant public research university in Storrs/Mansfield, Connecticut. Uconn is a member of the space-grant colleges, a consortium of 52 universities across the United States that support out space-related research. Uconn has roughly 30,000 students and 8,000 graduate students. In addition to its main campus in Storrs, Connecticut, Uconn has five other campus locations.
