Wayland Baptist University, located in Plainview, Texas, USA, is a coeducational, private Baptist university. Wayland has a total of thirteen campuses in six U.S. states (including five campuses in Texas) and one international school in Kenya, Africa.

The school began as Wayland Literary Technical Institute on August 31, 1908. In 1910 the name changed to Wayland Baptist College. It didn’t receive its current name, Wayland Baptist University, until 1981 when it received university status. Currently, Wayland Baptist has just over 5,000 students enrolled.

It is our goal to serve as a focal point for all of Wayland Baptist University’s composition activities in order to generate an enduring legacy of better writing.
