University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston

The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) was created in 1972 by the UT System Board of Regents. Located in the Texas Medical Center, it is primarily a university for graduate education. It educates the largest amount of health care professionals in all of Texas.

UTHealth includes schools of biomedical informatics, dentistry, nursing and public health, medicine, and the graduate school of biomedical sciences. Its primary teaching hospitals are the Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, and the Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital. UTHealth has been accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to be able to award bachelors, masters, doctoral and professional degrees, and certificates.
