The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) is one of three schools that makes up the University of Alaska System. The university’s main campus is located in Anchorage, Alaska. UAA has six colleges or what it calls “divisions”, each covering a separate subject area. These include the colleges of Health and Social Welfare, Education, Business and Public Policy, Arts and Sciences, School of Engineering and the Community and Technical College. Other colleges under the University of Alaska Anchorage school system include Matanuska-Susitna College, Kenai Peninsula College, Kodiak College, and Prince William Sound Community College.
University of Alaska Anchorage offer Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees as well as Graduate Certificates in several fields. It also offers students the opportunity to complete select PhD programs via cooperating universities through its Graduate Division. However, UAA cannot, on its own, confer the title of PhD to its students.
