TUI University

College Degree Finder

Trident University International (also known as TUI) is a for-profit, online university located in Cypress, California and owned by Summit Partners – a venture capital group out of Palo Alto, California. Unlike many online schools that offer both campus-based and online programs, TUI University offers only online degree programs. TUI is a breakoff from Touro College, which was founded in New York City in 1970. TUI offers students a comprehensive selection of degree programs including bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in Health Science, Education, Business and Information Systems.

Currently, Trident University is regionally accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. However, due to allegations that the school had (1) failed to ensure that new undergraduate student transfers had fulfilled all their general education requirements and (2) failed to inform accreditors about the problem, its accreditation status was threatened. Due to TUI’s progress in resolving the issues, in February 2012, WASC lifted the previously imposed “show cause” order and placed the school on temporary probation.
