Toppenish is a relatively small city with only 8,949 residents and a total area of less than two square miles. It is located in the heart of the Yakima Valley in the southcentral region of Washington state and lies inside the boundaries of the Yakima Indian Reservation.
Toppenish is home to Heritage University, a four-year higher education institution that offers associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degree in several disciplines including English, mathematics, business administration, computer science, chemistry, biology, social work and education. Heritage University is accredited by the Northwest Commission for Colleges and Universities (NWCCU).
Heritage University has a special program in place whereby students from Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake, who have earned an associate’s degree, can apply their credits toward a bachelor’s degree at Heritage.
