This educational program focuses on agricultural principles and practices that, over the long term, enhance environmental quality, integrate natural biological cycles and controls, make efficient use of nonrenewable resources, and are economically viable and socially responsible; and that may prepare individuals to apply this knowledge to the solution of agricultural and environmental problems. This program typically includes in depth instruction in principles of agroecology, entomology, crop and soil sciences, animal science, horticulture, soil fertility and nutrient cycling, weed science and management, agricultural economics, applied ecology, and watershed and rangeland ecology management.
