St. Johns River State College (formerly St. Johns River Community College) is based in the city of Palatka, Florida with branch campuses in both St. Augustine and Orange Park. The college was established in 1958 as a community college and is one of twenty-eight colleges that belong to the Florida College System. The college is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award two-year associate’s and four-year bachelor’s degrees in various fields of study including education, liberal arts and business.

In addition to independent branches in Orange Park and St. Augustine, St. Johns River State College is also home to The Florida School of Arts (locally referred to as “FlorArts”), an accredited arts school that’s located in the F building at the college’s Palatka campus. The Florida School of Arts was founded in 1976 and offers Associate of Science and Associate of Art degrees in various visual arts (e.g., fine arts, graphic design, photography, illustrustion, new media) and performing arts (e.g., dance, acting, theatre) fields.
