School Overview
Spokane Community College (SCC) was founded in 1963 and is a member of the Community Colleges of Spokane, a community college system comprised of three institutions which serve the education needs of nearly 40,000 students in Eastern Washington.
SCC offers various education programs designed for aspiring career-professionals and higher education minded students. Two-year liberal arts associate degrees are available for students intent on transfering to four-year college or university upon graduation and the community college offers a comprehensive selection of two-year technical degrees and one to two-year certificates in a various professional fields, including business, IT, hospitality, sciences, transportation, industrial manufacturing, culinary arts and management, and health services and sciences. Of all the community colleges in the state of Washington, SCC has one of the largest selections of health sciences courses and programs.
The SCC campus is located on a 150-acre plot in east Spokane situated along the Spokane River. It is home to over 25 buildings, which include student facilities, administration offices, and academic classrooms and centers. In addition to its 150-acre main campus, SCC also has another 10-acres that are home several off-campus facilities, which include a aviation hangar and technical training center.
