School Overview
Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) is a privately owned and operated four-year university with main campuses in Manchester and Hooksett, New Hampshire.
SNHU is regionally accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Many of the SNHU’s programs and academic schools also have special accreditation status.
SNHU was founded in 1933 as the New Hampshire School of Accounting and Secretarial Science. About thirty years later, in 1961, the school was renamed the New Hampshire College of Accounting and Commerce. Yet again, in 1969, the school’s name was changed to New Hampshire College, and finally, in 2001, it became Southern New Hampshire University to reflect its expanding degree options.
In addition to its two campuses in Manchester and Hooksett, SNHU offers several undergraduate and graduate-level programs through 5 regional learning centers in New Hampshire and Maine.
Many of the courses offered through SNHU’s regional centers can be completed on-campus, online, or a combination of the two. Regional learning centers are currently located in the New Hampshire cities of Manchester, Portsmouth, Nashua, and Salem, and also in Brunswick, Maine.
At Southern New Hampshire University, we believe there are no limits on what you can do, what you can be, or what you can achieve. This is a University that goes the extra mile – so you can too. – SNHU Website
