Agnes Scott College

College Degree Finder

Agnes Scott College, more commonly referred to as Agnes Scott is a private, four-year college located in downtown Decatur, Georgia, nestled deep inside the busy metro-Atlanta area. Agnes Scott was first established in 1889 as the Decatur Female Seminary, but its name was changed to Agnes Scott Institute a year later to honor George Washington Scott. In 1906, the school’s name was changed once more to Agnes Scott College. While the school is no longer a female seminary, it remains a women’s college that emphasizes liberal arts education.

Agnes Scott has current enrollment of about 900 to 1000 students and has a faculty-to-student ratio of about 10-to-1. Nearly ninety percent of the faculty is full-time. Consequently, the college offers students the opportunity for a lot of one-on-one time with their instructors.
