School Overview

City College of San Francisco (CCSF), formerly known as San Francisco Junior College, is a two-year community college located in San Francisco, California. Founded in 1935, the Ocean Avenue campus in the Ingleside neighborhood is its main location, and eleven branch campuses can be found throughout the San Francisco area. CCSF is one of the largest community/junior colleges in the United States, serving over 100,000 students.

CCSF offers more than 50 degrees and academic programs; and over 100 career and technical programs. The oldest of its kind, CCSF’s widely-known Culinary Arts and Hospitality Studies program was established in 1936 and annually hosts an average of 200 international students. The program emphasizes culinary arts while providing training in hotel and food service management.

The home of the Rams, City College of San Francisco has a variety of intercollegiate athletic teams that compete in the CCCAA Coast Conference North Section. Sports at CCSF include football, baseball, softball, basketball, badminton, soccer, volleyball, tennis, cross-country, track, and judo. With a continuing tradition of excellence, the CCSF football team has claimed nine national championships.
