School Overview

Pensacola State College (previously Pensacola Junior College) is a public state college and a member institution of the Florida College System. It is located in Pensacola, Florida, USA.

Pensacola State has had some exciting opportunities for its students. For example, Harvard professors held a three-day workshop for Patient Simulation Training & Research at the Mary Ekdahl Smart Center on the Warrington campus. Harvard hadn’t held a seminar like that at a community college before.

Pensacola State also offers associates and bachelor’s degrees in addition to vocational certifications and an adult high school. They provide over 100 majors and high-tech resources. In 2007/2008, over 34,000 students were enrolled and about 11,000 of them were seeking Associate degrees. Just like the rest of Florida community colleges, Pensacola State’s associate in arts degrees will guarantee the student’s acceptance into a State University System of Florida institution. It has a joint campus with the University of Florida in Milton and works together closely with the University of West Florida. In most technical areas for students earning A.S and A.A.S. degrees and/or certificates, job placement is 100 percent.
