Northwest Florida State College (NWFSC) is public, four-year, co-educational state college located in Niceville, Florida. It is one of twenty-eight public higher education institutions that belong to the Florida College System. NWFSC was first established as Okaloosa-Walton Junior College in 1963. It changed its name to Okaloosa-Waltgon Community College in 1988 and then to Northwest Florida State College in 2008 to reflect its new status as a state college. NWFSC offers associate and bachelor degree programs in various fields of study and career-oriented disciplines. In addition to its main campus in Niceville, Northwest Florida State College has another campus in Fort Walton Beach, as well as several learning centers (Elgin Air Force Base Center, South Walton Center, Hurlburt Field Center, Chautauqua Center and Robert LF Sikes Center). NWFSC is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
