Founded in 1982, the Northwest College of Art and Design, locally referred to as NCAD, is a private, for-profit college located in Poulsbo, Washington. The programs offered at NCAD are designed to prepare students for entry-level careers in the creative arts. The educators and faculty at NCAD include working designers and artists that help students develop technical expertise and foster creative excellence. Class sizes typically range between 20 and 30 students and the average age of NCAD students range from 18 to 25-but NCAD welcomes career bound students of all ages.

NCAD’s picturesque 26-acre campus is located on the Mains Manor Estate on the Kitsap Peninsula, just 10 miles from the Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal (30 minutes from downtown Seattle by ferry). NCAD students will be surrounded by natural surroundings, which include views of the shimmering Liberty Bay, the magnificent Olympic Mountains and the rural beauty of the Kitsap Peninsula. Notwithstanding its rural location, Kitsap Peninsula is home to many restaurants, boutiques, specialty shops, and brand name department stores.
