In 2017, North Greenville University (NGU) turned 125 years old. North Greenville got its start in 1892. Intended to be a high school, it was first called North Greenville Baptist Association. In 1934 it became North Greenville Baptist Academy and Junior College, in 1950 became North Greenville Junior College, in 1972 became North Greenville College, and in 2006, finally became North Greenville University or NGU.

NGU offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degree-level programs to over 2,500 students each year. It is located in Tigerville, SC within the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The university strives to prepare students to become better, contributing members of society by educating the whole person through an integration of academic discipline, a Christian lifestyle, and an enriched cultural experience while offering students the best opportunities for spiritual growth, academic training, and Christian service.
