As a prominent online university, The University of Phoenix is focused on helping alumni find career opportunities. They frequently post tips, videos and information for job seekers on their LinkedIn account, making it a popular destination and valuable resource for their visitors.
A number of large public universities rank high on the LinkedIn list, including University of Texas, Arizona State University, and the University of Michigan. These schools graduate many students in popular fields like engineering, education, and business, all fields that are heavily represented throughout the LinkedIn network.
LinkedIn has recently rolled out a new tool geared toward higher education that servers several purposes. First it has given schools a dedicated platform to help students with their careers, especially graduate students, who are looking for career advancement opportunities through education. Second, it allows schools to engage alumni for networking purposes. And third, it provides schools with a place for admissions and marketing outreach. Many schools in the list, such as Ohio State University and the University of Washington, are already utilizing this feature. These new university pages have the potential to become a hub used by career and admissions offices to attract and engage promising candidates and alumni.
