The Milwaukee School of Engineering (also referred to as “MSOE”) is a privately owned and operated four-year university located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Total annual enrollment at MSOE is roughly 2,500, which includes about 2300 undergraduate and 200 graduate students. The school was founded in 1903 as the School of Engineering of Milwaukee and later changed to Milwaukee School of Engineering.

As its name suggests, programs at MSOE focus on engineering, with courses offered in engineering technology, computer, architectural engineering, construction management, business and nursing. While MSOE offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs, the school is considered an undergraduate institution and the majority of degrees awarded are bachelor’s degrees. The school does offer 9 master’s degree programs.

MSOE has about 130 full-time faculty and a student-to-faculty ratio of 13 to 1. About three fourths of the faculty hold either a doctoral or terminal degree in their field of expertise.

The Milwaukee School of Engineering offers a unique program and opportunity for its undergraduate students. As of 2012, qualifying undergraduate students can earn a master’s degree upon complete of their bachelor’s degree without paying tuition. This program is available to all undergraduate students who meet certain academic standards and requirements.
