This educational program is designed to prepare students to apply technical knowledge and skills to further process ferrous and/or non-ferrous metal plates or shapes, and to manufacture and/or install products as interpreted through technical drawings. This program frequently includes in depth instruction in trade tools, reading and interpreting blueprints, shop equipment, material handling, thermal cutting, welding, metallurgy, plate and structural fabrication, template pattern development, destructive and non-destructive testing, shipment preparation, inspection, and fabrication installation.
