a Master of Education, a
Graduate Certificate in Education,
Doctor of Nursing Practice, Master
of Science in Nursing, and a Graduate
Certificate in Health Information
Technology Systems.

Accreditation

Colorado Mesa University is accredited
through the Higher Learning
Commission, and it is also a member of
the North Central Association.

Program level accreditation is
included in athletics, music,
nursing, paramedic, radiologic
technology, teacher education, and
transportation services. A different
organization supports the
accreditation of each of these areas.

Online Degrees and Programs

When going to college in the
traditional manner is not an option
due to work and family responsibilities,
consider getting an online
degree. Colorado Mesa University offers
a variety of courses and even
full degrees online. If you are looking
to complete a degree, the
options available at CMU include the
following: nursing, sport
management, radiologic technology,
public administration/public safety,
and teacher licensure. There are also a
few associate degree options in
social science and sport management that
are available to you. Do not
put off your education because you think
it will take too long. Taking
your time is an option when you take
part in online education.

Financial Aid

At Colorado Mesa University, you could
get financial aid in a few
different ways. You could apply for
government aid to get a Pell Grant,
or you could get one or more
scholarships from the university or
through a third party. Scholarships
offered to first year students of
the university include the following:
Colorado Mesa University
Distinguished Scholarship, Trustee
Scholarship, Presidential
Scholarship, Academic Achievement
Scholarship, First Generation
Scholarship, and Colorado Mesa
University Scholarships for Freshmen.
There are even specific scholarships
available for transfer students.
Another option for financial aid
includes loans. Loans should be
calculated after you take the time to
figure out how much scholarship
money or grant money you will be
receiving. A loan should always be a
last resort, because you will carry it
with you for years to come.

Library System

The Tomlinson Library at Colorado Mesa
University offers a variety
of options for research and reading
enjoyment. Whether you need a
journal to read for a project or a book
for your down time, you should
be able to find what you need. If you
cannot find it, you can always
request it from another library. The
library offers hours until
midnight Monday through Thursday as well
as Sunday hours. The extra
long hours are great to help you get in
last-minute research from books
that you might not take back to your
dorm.

Athletics

The Colorado Mesa University Sports
teams are called the Mavericks.
They have a strong record for wins in
their conference and region. They
are a part of the NCAA Division II and
Rocky Mountain Athletic
Conference. There are 32 sports in which
the Mavericks compete, and in
these sports, more than 350 students are
involved while getting their
education.

Student Housing

If you are looking at attending CMU,
then housing is something that
you definitely need to consider. There
are several options that you can
consider. The school offers traditional
campus housing along with
apartments and suites. Another option is
housing that puts those with
similar interests together for better
learning. These options include
engineering suites, Study Intensive
Communities, and Wellness
Lifestyle/Substance-Free Communities.
Some of these options are a great
asset to those who desire to really
focus on school in general or
specific and not be interrupted by those
who would rather include
alcohol, tobacco, and drugs in their
routine.
