This program is designed to prepare students, under the supervision of physicians or laboratory scientists or technologists, to perform phlebotomy, waived testing procedures (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988), and other duties in support of laboratory teams. This program frequently includes in depth instruction in clinical procedures, laboratory mathematics, various laboratory tests, computer technology, operation and maintenance, communications skills, equipment sterilization and safety, and interpersonal skills.
