Metropolitan Community College – Kansas City or “MCC”, is a community college system in the state of Missouri. The MCC system includes fives stand-alone campuses located in the cities of Independence, Kansas City, and Lee’s Summit. Altogether, MCC’s five campuses have an annual enrollment of over 21,000 students. Established in 1915 as the Kansas City Polytechnic Institute, Metropolitan Community College is the oldest public college in Kansas City, Missouri. It was also one of the first two-year colleges in the United States to award associate degrees.
