Lawson State Community College (also known as “Lawson State”) is a public two-year community college based in Birmingham, Alabama. The college also has a branch campus in Bessemer, Alabama.
Lawson State was recently ranked among the top two-year community colleges in the nation, due in part to its exceptional student and teacher satisfication ratings. Students find Lawson State to offers an excellent academic program and a satisfying student life, and teachers agree!
The college is fully accredited to award two-year associate degrees and technical certificates in various academic fields and career-oriented disciplines, including business, health, engineering technologies, family services, construction trades, culinary arts, legal studies, public administration and nursing, among many others. In addition to degree programs and certificates, Lawson State also offers various adult education options.
Washington Monthly ranked Lawson State among the community colleges found in its “America’s 50 best community colleges” list which is published each year. Given the shear number of community colleges in the United States, this is quite an impressive feat.
