Lawrence Technological University, often referred to locally as Lawrence Tech or LTU, is relatively small private university located in the city of Southfield in Oakland County, Michigan. Through its four academic schools and colleges (Arts and Sciences, Architecture and Design, Management, and Engineering) LTU offers a full range of bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs in popular fields of study including architecture, business, engineering, graphic design, mathematics and science.

U.S. News and World report has consistently ranked LTU in its list of Top Tier Master’s Universities in the Midwest. In 2006, LTU was ranked 37th out hundreds of Midwestern Universities. However, three year late in 2009, the university’s ranking had fallen to 55th. In 2010, U.S. News and World Report ranked Lawrence Technological University 49th in its list of “Best of Undergraduate Engineering Programs”. LTU has also been ranked by the Princeton Review as one of the “Best in the Midwest” schools, by G. I. Jobs as a “Military Friendly School,” and by the Intel Corporation as a “Top 50 Unwired Campus”. LTU has also been recognized as one of “America’s Best Architectural Schools”. In our estimation, on of the most important recognitions the school has received came from Bloomberg-Businessweek which reported that the earning power of an LTU bachelor’s degree ranks in the top 30% of all universities in the United States.
