Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC), formerly Lake-Sumter Community College, located in Leesburg, Florida is a state college that belongs to the Florida College System. In addition to its main campus, the college has branch campuses in Clermont (South Lake Campus) and Sumterville (Sumter Campus).
Lake-Sumter State College offers undergraduate degree programs including two-year Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Applied Science (AAS) and four-year Bachelor of Arts degrees. In addition to accredited degree programs the college also offers professional certificates and disciplines-specific diplomas. Students can also take advantage of a 2+2 program the college provides enabling them to transfer directly to St. Leo University or University of Central Florida (UCF) upon completion of the program.
Through the DirectConnect to UCF partnership, established between Lake-Sumter State College and the University of Central Florida several years ago, LSSC students who successully complete their AA or AS degree are guaranteed admission into UCF. LSSC students who sign up for the DirectConnect to UCF program also receive academic advising, fininancial planning advising, and admissions advising by UCF. One of the primary reasons the DirectConnecct to UCF partnership was established was to help UCF honor its commitment to provide higher education opportunities to the local residents of central Florida.
