Keiser University is a privately owned and operated university based in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. In addition to its main campus in Fort Lauderdale, Keiser University has 14 other campus locations throughout Florida. The university offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs for career-oriented adults. The institution was founded in 1977 as the Keiser School. In 1986, the school changed its name to Keiser College, the same year it began offering associate degrees. In 2001, the college started offering bachelor degrees and five years later the school once more changed its name, to Keiser University.

Keiser University was a for-profit institution up until 2011 when it was sold to Everglades College Inc, a non-profit organization. Keiser is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award certificates and degrees at the associate, baccalaureate, masters, specialist, and doctoral levels.
