Kishwaukee College is an accredited, two-year community college located in the city of Malta, in the state of Illinois. It was established in 1968 and is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The college has a total annual enrollment of roughly 11,000 students.
Kishwaukee College is recognized for producing the award winning Kamelian a literary arts magazine–which has won more awards than any other publication of it its type.
Degrees at Kishwaukee include Associate in Arts (A.A.); Associate in Science (A.S.); Associate in Engineering Science (A.E.S.); Associate in Fine Arts (A.F.A.), Fine Arts Emphasis; Associate in Fine Arts (A.F.A); Art Education Emphasis; and Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.). Several certificate programs are also available. Two-year associate degrees are offered in various fields of study including accounting, art, biology, engineering, education, computer science, journalism, musci, psychology, and sociology, among many others. Career-oriented fields of study include aviation, automotive technology, engineering technology, criminal justice, electronics, landscaping, floral design, marketing, business, nursing, radiology, massage therapy, welding and truck driver training.
In addition to a superb academic program, Kishwaukee also offers students the opportunity to get involved in several athletic events. Sport teams and student athletes at Kishwaukee compete at the Kougars and the college is recognized for having won several national championships in various sports, including volleyball and baseball.
