Johnson & Wales University (JWU) is a privately owned and operated, non-profit research university with various campus locations-including North Miami, Florida. Total annual enrollment at JWU exceeds 17,000 students and the university offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in counseling psychology, engineering, education, culinary arts, business, hospitality and tourism, equine management and technology.

The university has a large campus in North Miami, Florida that was opened in 1992. Degree programs at the North Miami campus are offered through the College of Business, the Hospitality College, and College of Culinary Arts. The North Miami Campus offers an active student life and sponsors several fraternities (Kappa, Sigma, Lamba Sigma Upsilon and Iota Phi Theta) and sororities (Alpha Sigma Tau, Delta Sigma Theta, Mu Sigma Upsilon and Chi Sigma Upsilon). JWU is regionally accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
