School Overview
Florida International University (locally referred to as FIU) is a four-year, public university and research institution located just outside of downtown Miami, Florida. The school’s main campus is located in University Park in Miami-Dade County. FIU is well known for being one of the top graduate research institutions in Florida, and graduates over 3,000 students each year from its graduate and professional programs. FIU is composed of 23 academic schools and colleges which together offer over 280 undergraduate majors in 190 fields of study. FIU offers over 80 master’s degrees, 35 doctoral degrees, and several professional degrees. Some of the more popular fields of study at FIU include business, law, architecture, medicine, and engineering.
