Oregon Institute of Technology, often referred to as Oregon Tech or OIT, is located in Klamath Falls, Oregon. It also has satellite campuses in Portland and La Grande, Oregon; and a partner location with Boeing in Seattle, Washington. OIT is part of the Oregon University System and is the only public institute of technology in the Pacific Northwest that provides undergraduate and graduate degrees in health and technical disciplines.

OIT is a fully accredited institution.

OIT has an excellent academic reputation including nationally recognized engineering, technology and health programs. OIT graduates with degrees in enineering, technology or health are heavily recruited by companies in Northern California and the Pacific Northwest. OIT admission information indicates average SAT scores of 1060 and GPA’s of 3.51 for entering freshman. Eighty five percent of the student body at OIT is from the state of Oregon which also includes a dual enrollment agreement with Portland Community College.

U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges 2012 ranked OIT as the eighth best regional baccalaureate college in the West and among the top 60 engineering programs in the United States. OIT also earnehd a spot on the Forbes 2011 America’s Best Colleges list.

OIT offers multiple degrees in engineering and technology including; Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, and Computer Systems Engineering Technology. In addition, OIT has a highly reputable and nationally acclaimed Civil Engineering program. Over 92% of civil engineering graduates at OIT are employed within 6 months of earning their degree and another 6% go on to graduate school.

OIT Engineering graduates are widely recruited by government agencies, major corporations, and top design firms. OIT is known for its graduates having a more thorough understanding of engineering theory and design principles than many other institutions so their starting salaries typically exceed the national average.
