Heritage University

College Degree Finder

Heritage University was founded in 1907 by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. At the time of its founding it was known as Holy Names College and was located in Spokane, Washington. The school then changed its name to Fort Wright College. In 1982, the college moved to Toppenish (on the Yakama Indian Reservation) and was renamed Heritage College. It operated in Toppenish and Omak but kept the Spokane campus for an additional five years before closing the Spokane campus. Today it is known as Heritage University.

Heritage University offers associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees in several disciplines which include: education, social work, biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, business administration, and English. Beginning in 1993, Heritage College started a program enabling students with associate degrees from Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake to apply their credits toward a Heritage bachelor’s degree.
