Claremont Graduate University (sometimes referred to as CGU) is a private, graduate university that’s located about 30 miles east of Los Angeles in the city of Claremont, California. CGU is one of five undergraduate colleges that make up the Claremont Colleges consortium. Other member colleges include Harvey Mudd College, Scripps College, Pitzer College, Pomona College and Keck Graduate Institute of Applied Life Sciences. As a member of the Claremont Colleges consortium, CGU students are able to enroll in courses at other consortium schools.

Founded in 1925, CGU is the oldest all-graduate university in the nation. Many notable alumni, business professionals and political figures have graduated from CGU. CGU is composed of nine individual academic schools.
