Fresno Pacific University is a Christian school in Fresno, California. However, the university didn’t start out as Fresno Pacific University. It was founded as Pacific Bible Institute, and later its name was changed. Fresno Pacific University is affiliated with the Mennonite Brethren Church. The university was founded in the 1940’s, didn’t start awarding bachelor’s degrees until the 1960s and master’s degrees until the 1970s.
