To practice nursing in Florida you’ll need a degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program and you’ll need to get licensed through the state. The Florida Board of Nursing requires that all nurses have an associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing before they sit for the state licensing exam. While either degree will do, taking the extra time to earn a bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) will open more doors for you, and allow you to pursue a graduate degree in nursing down the road.
