Why is financial aid so important?
Other than the possibility of getting money to help you pay for college, why is financial aid so valuable? According to a study done on low-income students by Ray Franke, a professor at University of Massachusetts, Boston, a students chances of graduating in six years increases for each $1,000 of aid received. The percent increase varies by type of aid received: it increases by 2.52% to 2.82% for federal grant aid, by 2.40% to 2.59% for state need-based grants, and by 1.31% to 1.62% for institutional need-based grants.
