School Overview
Excelsior College is a non-profit, private college located in Albany, New York. Excelsior offers undergraduate and graduate degrees through four schools: the School of Liberal Arts, the School of Health Sciences, the School of Nursing, and the School of Business and Technology.
Many students are attracted to Excelsior for its non-resident programs. Excelsior honors college credit from other accredited institutions, as well as from training in the public and private sectors that is approved by the American Council on Education (ACE). Excelsior also offers its own distance learning courses, allowing students more flexibility in pursuing their degree.
As a member of the Service-members Opportunity Colleges (SOC), Excelsior provides specialized programs for military service-members and their families. Military students can tailor their course schedule around off-duty hours, and active-duty students can take classes at U.S. military bases, overseas instillations, or even on Navy ships.
