A program that prepares individuals, under the remote supervision of physicians, to assess, recognize, and manage medical emergencies in prehospital settings and to supervise Ambulance personnel. This program frequently includes in depth instruction in basic, intermediate, and advanced EMT procedures; medical triage; emergency surgical procedures; rescue operations; equipment operation and maintenance; crisis scene management and personnel supervision; drug administration; basic anatomy, pathology, physiology, and toxicology; patient monitoring, stabilization, and care; communication and computer operations; identification and preliminary diagnosis of diseases and injuries; and professional standards and regulations.
