With more than 105,000 residents, Elgin, Illinois, located in Kane County, is one of the fastest growing cities in Illinois. The ethnically diverse city offers a variety of recreational and cultural entertainment options including 1,600 acres of parks and 4,000 acres of county forest preserves. Elgin is home to Judson University, a private four-year liberal arts college affiliated with the Evangelical Church. Judson University has forged a partnership with the City of Elgin’s businesses, non-profit agencies, and schools, and encourages students to be active participants in the community. More than 1,100 students attend the school where they are able to choose from more than 50 undergraduate programs. The self-proclaimed “quaint” college holds the annual World Leaders Forum, hosting dignitaries such as Mikhail S. Gorbachev, Tony Blair, and George W. Bush.
