Edmonds Community College (locally referred to as just “Edmonds”) is a two-year community college located in Lynnwood, Washington, near the city of Seattle. With a total annual enrollment over 20,000 and an average quarterly enrollment of 12,000, Edmonds is one of the largest public higher education institutions in Snohomish County and the entire state of Washington. In addition to a large student body, Edmonds has a large academic staff. Currently the college employs 140 full-time and 450 part-time staff and faculty, as well as several hundred students. In all, Edmonds employs nearly 1,700 people.

Academics

Edmonds offers one of the largest selections of associate degrees and professional certificates of any higher education institution in the state. Altogether, the college offers degrees and certificates in over 80 academic fields of study and occupational disciplines. Many students at Edmonds plan on transfering to a four-year university to earn a bachelor’s degree. Edmonds offers the Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Science (AS), Associate in Elementary Education (AEE), Associate in Applied Science-T (transfer) and Associate in Pre-Nursing degrees, all of which are designed to prepare students to pursue a bachelor’s degree upon graduation.

The most popular associate degree programs at Edmonds are in Paralegal Studies, Business, Accounting, Culinary Arts, Construction Management and Allied Health. Edmonds Community College is one of the few colleges in the state to offers a degree in Materials Science/Engineering Technology and Restoration Horticulture.

Edmonds has partnerships and articulation agreements with several public, four-year universities in the region. Students who successfully complete a two-year associate of arts or associate of science degree at Edmonds are guaranteed admittance to pursue a bachelor’s degree at Central Washington University‘s main campus, Washington State University online or the evening program offered at University of Washington.
