Working professionals interested in e-commerce can earn a master’s degree while continuing to acquire work experience simultaneously if they select an online program. Common classes making up curriculum in e-commerce master’s programs include network security, software, marketing, finance, sales strategies, and business management.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), there should be nearly 25 percent job growth for e-commerce specialists through 2019. Specifically, job growth for computer systems analysts should rise by 20 percent during the next ten years.

Annual salaries are different for e-commerce specialists in each industry. For example, during 2008, the median salary for marketing managers was over $100,000 a year. Systems operations managers, during this same year, earned a median salary over $70,000 annually.
