Drexel University is a private research university located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Also known as DU, the school was established in 1891 by Anthony J. Drexel, a prominent businessman and philanthropist. Drexel students may pursue more than seventy undergraduate degrees and over a hundred Master’s, Doctorates and professional training programs.
U.S. News & World Report routinely names Drexel in its annual list of the best national universities. In 2012, that publication ranked Drexel 3rd among “Up and Coming National Universities”. Times Higher Education named the school one of the 200 best universities globally in its annual University Rankings.
Drexel features one of the highest ranked cooperative education (co-op) programs in the nation. Participating students are placed with companies and organizations in order to gain valuable career experience prior to graduation. Drexel partners with hundreds of government, corporate and non-profit institutions around the world. These include banks, international law firms, foreign and domestic government departments, and Fortune 500 companies such as Procter & Gamble, Microsoft and several Wall Street firms.
