Clarkson University (locally referred to as just “Clarkson”) is a privately owned and operated four-year co-educational university located in the city of Potsdam, in the state of New York. Clarkson is primarily an undergraduate institutions but does offers several graduate degree programs. Total annual enrollment includes approximately 3,000 undergraduate and 500 graduate students. The university has a full-time academic staff of about 230.
Clarkson University is a fully accredited institution that awards bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral via its four academic schools, which include the School of Arts and Sciences, the Wallace H. Coulter School of Engineering, and School of Business and the Institute for Sustainable Environment. The university is particularly well known of its engineering program which was ranked No.11 in the nation.
In 2013, U.S. News and World Report placed Clarkson University in the top tier of national universities in its list of “America’s Best Colleges”.
