School Overview
Effective in July of 2011, Atlanta Christian College was renamed Point University. The following year the university’s main campus was moved from East Point, Georgia to West Point, Georgia, about 50 south of Atlanta. Point University is a privately owned and operated higher education institutions that is Christian affiliated and focuses on liberal arts education.
Point University is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award two-year associate and four-year bachelor degrees in various fields of study, including child and youth development, biblical studies, English, human services, family counseling, psychology, history and music, among others. Point’s early childhood education program is independently accredited through the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.
Point University has a strong athletics program. Its teams and student athletes compete as the Skyhawks. The compete in the Appalachian Athletic Conference and belong to the NAIA. Men’s and women’s sports at Point include basketball, baseball, cheerleading, soccer, tennis, football, lacrosse, golf, cross country, and volleyball.
Currently, Point University does not offer online degree programs. They do however offers some of their courses online. Once accepted to Point University student will have the option of completing some of their core and major courses over the Internet–however, most programs require classroom attendance.
