Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) is a public community college located in Sanford, North Carolina that offers two-year associate degrees and technical certificates in over 50 disciplines and career fields. CCCC is a non-profit institution and is a member of the North Carolina Community College System, a network of nearly 60 community colleges that together represent over 800,000 students statewide. CCCC was founded in1961 and in addition to its campus in Sanford, has campuses and satellite centers in Harnett County, Harnett County and Lee County, as well as several other townships. To provide career training and adult education to students unable to commute to one of its physical campuses, Central Carolina Community College offers a well developed distance education/correspondence program.

Academics

Central Carolina Community College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and awards academic and career-oriented Associate of Arts, Associate of Science and Associate of Applied Science degrees. While the majority of the programs at CCCC are designed to prepare students to enter the workforce upon graduation, the college also offers associate degrees designed for students who are planning on transfering to a four-year institution to pursue a bachelor’s degree. In additon to associate degrees, CCCC offers a large selection of career-oriented certificates, diplomas and non-credit adult education courses. A few of the more popular vocational programs offer at CCCC include early childhood education, nursing, policing and bioprocessing technology.

CCCC has been recognized as one of the only community colleges in the nation to offer a Laser-Photonic Technology program and the only community college in North Carolina to offer an Alternative Engineering Technology (Biofuels) degree. As an ongoing service to the community, CCCC provides business and corporate training for organizations throughout the region.
