Capella University is a for-profit university that specializes in online education. Headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Capella provides Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees in fields of study such as education, business, public safety, public health, psychology and information technology.
Capella provides online education for over 35,000 students from every state in the U.S. and more than 60 countries. Most students are enrolled part-time. Almost 75% of students pursue Master’s degrees (MBA and MS) and Ph.D.’s. The remaining student body is undergraduate, with a small percentage seeking professional certification.
In total, Capella offers roughly 1,700 online courses, including 22 certification programs and nearly 150 undergraduate and graduate fields of study. The school’s faculty members live across the United States and 8 foreign countries. Out of 1,500 faculty members, over 85% are Ph.D.’s.
