Established in 1878, Brenau University is a private, nonprofit institution located in Gainesville, Georgia in the United States. The school, offering programs at both the graduate and undergraduate level, spans multiple campuses and also provides online degree programs and courses. Approximately 2,800 students are enrolled at Brenau, pursuing degrees from the school’s four colleges: Health and Science, Fine Arts and Humanities, Education, and Mass Communication. Brenau also includes an institution for women, Brenau Women’s College.
Brenau University focuses its curriculum on the liberal arts, but also prepares students for professional life. Brenau’s “early college” program provides the opportunity for ambitious high school students to earn college credit while completing their high school diploma. Students can choose from programs that range from associates to doctorates in a broad variety of fields, including interior design and nursing. While Brenau’s main campus is in Gainesville, the school has branch campuses in Kings Bay, Augusta, Fairburn, and Norcross.
As of 2012, the U.S. News & World Report has rated Brenau as one of the top fifteen colleges in the Southeast six years in a row. Brenau has also been selected by the Princeton Review as one of the Southeast’s best universities. In addition, Brenau’s online programs and graduate programs received high rankings in the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges Guidebook in 2012.
